A Staple of Gamesboro Radio

Since almost the very beginning of the station we have hosted Sega Saturday every weekend, with carefully curated tunes from our favorite Sega games. We only include music from games that were on a Sega console, or games that are published from Sega themselves. This gives us a vast array of tracks that span from the mid 80’s, all the way to today. Let me hit you with my top 5 that we have on the playlist every week. These are in no particular order; I couldn’t possibly rank these as they are all killer beats.

OutRun 2 (Xbox, PS2) – Magical Sound Shower
My dudes, if you haven’t listened to OutRun 2’s soundtrack you have been missing out. Somehow intense but relaxing at the same time, every track is an absolute banger. Listen to the OutRun 2 version of “
“Magical Sound Shower” and tell me how you feel about it in the comments section below.

Batman (Genesis) – Flugelheim Museum
The NES soundtrack to Batman was good, but the Genesis version absolutely ROCKS. Very upbeat and you may even find yourself humming this ear worm, “Flugelheim Museum” easily finds itself on my list of favorite Sega tunes. You may recognize this one from videos from the great Sega Lord X on YouTube.

Daytona USA (Saturn) – Let’s Go Away
In the 90’s, and especially today the easiest way to tell you found an awesome arcade was if you could hear this tune blasting away as soon as you walk in. Even better, blasting “Let’s Go Away” from the speakers in your own home from your Saturn. Typing out the first thing you hear just can’t do it justice but I’ll try. DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DOOOO DOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Tell me you can’t hear it in your head right now!

Sonic Mania (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) – Main Menu [Comfort Zone]
You just knew I wasn’t going to forget about the mascot! The entire Sonic series is known for its catchy tunes such as Chemical Plant from Sonic 2, Live and Learn from Sonic Adventure 2, Neo Devil Doom from Sonic x Shadow Generations, and so many more. Lately the one I come back to the most is the Main Menu music from Sonic Mania. It is beautiful and relaxing, and one that I don’t ever think I’ll get tired of hearing.

Streets of Rage 4 (Xbox One, PS4, Switch, PC) – Rising Up Extended Mix
Streets 4, oh how I love everything about this game. From the 4-player local co-op, to the perfect feel of the combat. Taking the reigns as my favorite beat em’ up since Streets of Rage 2 the music is on par with the rest of this stellar experience. “Rising Up” has a great synthwave feel and is my favorite track from the game bar none.
Sega Saturday – Where do I find it?
The easiest answer to this is RIGHT HERE every Saturday on Gamesboro Radio. Need it to be even easier than that? I’ve got you bro! How about I just include a player below.
Want to hear one of these tracks without waiting for it to be played randomly? I’ve got you covered! Simply request the song you want below, and it will be moved to the top of the queue. Keep in mind, it’s first come, first served, so if someone requests a song before you, theirs will play first. You typically won’t have to wait more than a couple of songs for your request to be played.
Here is a cool little tidbit, if you are reading this article NOT on a Friday then whatever our broadcast is at that time will be what you can select from and here. Have fun!
