Welcome to Gamesboro Newsletter Issue 3, last month’s winner Josh W. won himself one of my personal Neo Geo X controllers just for being a subscriber!
You know I’m always dropping new prizes though, so now is your chance to win a brand-new Fatal Fury hat just like the one I’m wearing right here:
Find out if you won by the end of August, keep an eye on your email! You have to be subscribed to win.
Let me hit you with this, did you know you can earn tokens from yours truly? If you see me at Southern Fried Gaming Expo and mention Gamesboro, I’ll give you a token. Not going to be at the expo? That’s cool, just get 5 buddies to sign up for the newsletter and I’ll mail you a token. Check the bottom of this email to get all the details.
We haven’t heard a peep out of Plaion in quite a while in regards to the Neo Geo AES Plus, and with November only a few months away I’m expecting that to change soon. As always, I’ll keep you in the loop as soon as I hear anything.
Gamesboro out!

NEO GEO CYBER-LIP Review – SNK’s 50 MEG Run & Gun Masterpiece (Or Mess?)
One of my favorite games from the early Neo Geo era!
Rumors have been spreading of a Neo Geo AES+ delay. They were ONLY rumors. Plaion has responded to multiple people saying they are still on track for November. If that changes, I’ll report on it.

Hyperkin is rereleasing the SupaBoy, the “portable” that plays actual SNES games. Why? The design is 15 years old and the novelty of playing games on the thing wears off QUICK. Not to mention you can still buy the old stock on Hyperkin’s site. Check out the details here.

Doom collection for Evercade has leaked, so Evercade has been kind enough to spill the beans on YouTube. Will include Doom and Doom II. Details here.

Military Madness
TURBOGRAFX-16 • 1990
This turn based strategy game is often overlooked, even though it had a huge visual upgrade when later published on the original Playstation. If you like games similar to Advance Wars, this is your jams!
One of the greatest driving games of all time made the jump from arcade to home, and this is one of those rare cases where the changes are for the better. It isn’t an accurate port of the arcade game, it was reworked to play great at home on a 3-button controller. The Genesis/Mega Drive version has less traffic and different rules for what happens when you make contact with other vehicles on the road. It also adds a new song, and most importantly an incredible hyper mode you can unlock with a code. Hit “C” 10 times at the title screen and you’ll find it under difficulty in the options menu.

Samurai Shodown was meant to be a stopgap between Fatal Fury 2 and 3 Count Bout. It was never intended to become a breakout hit. Once SNK realized they had a winner near the end of development they started supporting the game with more features and characters.
Last issue’s answer: Last issue’s winner was Levi, who figured out the game was Thunder Force V! Congrats pal!
